Q: How do I purchase tickets for an event?
Tickets for all Fox Theater shows are available through the Fox Theater web site.  You can also purchase tickets through Ticketmaster at Ticketmaster.com or by phone at 1-800-745-3000, or in person at any Ticketmaster outlet.

Tickets can also be purchased in person at the Fox Theater box office.

*The Fox Theater's Box Office is open from noon until 7:00pm every Friday (with the exception of some holidays). Tickets can be purchased during this time with NO service charge. Please note that presale tickets CANNOT be purchased during this time. Also note that tickets for all Another Planet Entertainment shows (with the exception of shows at The Independent) can be purchased service charge free at at this time.


Q: When do tickets go on sale?
On sale dates vary from one show to another, but shows usually go on-sale on Sundays at 10am. The best way to receive advance notice of upcoming shows is to join our mailing list. Click here to subscribe.

Q: Can I buy tickets at the door on the day of the event?
If there are still tickets available to purchase on the day of the event, you may purchase them in person at the box office. Some shows sell very quickly and do not always have tickets available on the day of the show, so we suggest you buy tickets ahead of time. The Fox Theater box office is open 90 minutes prior to each event.

Q: What is a pre-sale? How do I participate or get a password?
Pre-sales and passwords are by invitation only via the Internet and are usually offered by fan clubs or radio stations, who will send the password to their members. We will also occasionally offer pre-sales to our mailing list members. Please subscribe to our mailing list to receive these pre-sale notices. Please click here to join.

Q: When do the doors open for a show?
The doors typically open one hour prior to show time, although this may vary from show to show. Please refer to the event listing at www.thefoxoakland.com or www.apeconcerts.com for the most up-to-date information.

Q: Are there any opening acts at the show?
Any support acts will be listed at www.thefoxoakland.com and www.apeconcerts.com. Support acts are often added close to the show date, so make sure to check back often.

Q: What can I bring to the show?
For the comfort and safety of everyone, please do not bring in the following items: strollers, large backpacks, alcohol, cans, bottles, weapons of any kind, pets. Due to most performer's requests, no professional recording devices are allowed. The Fox Theater is a non-smoking facility.

Q: Does the Fox Theater serve food?
Food is available for purchase at every Fox Theater concert. A special menu from Rudy's Can't Fail Café is served in the Den and includes vegetarian/vegan options."There are also a number of restaurants near the Fox Theater, and you can click here to see our recommendations.

Q: Where is lost and found?
While at a performance, please visit coat check on the mezzanine level if you have lost something. If you realize you lost an item after leaving the Theater, please call (510) 302-2250 Monday through Friday from 10am to 6pm for assistance.

Q: How do I get to the theater?

Q: Where can I park near The Fox Theater?
In addition to street parking all around the Fox, there are also several outdoor parking lots nearby. Please click here for the locations and rates of nearby lots.

Q: How do I purchase wheelchair accessible tickets?
To purchase wheelchair accessible seating, click the "request accessible tickets" link on the Ticketmaster event page, order by phone at 1-800-745-3000, or in person at any Ticketmaster outlet or at the Fox Theater box office.

Q: Can I get a refund or exchange my tickets?
All tickets are purchased on a no refunds, exchanges, or cancellations basis and are only usable for the day, date and time selected at the time of purchase.

Q: When can I pick up my WILL CALL tickets?
The Will Call window opens 2 hours prior to each show at the Fox Theater box office. Be sure to bring photo ID, the credit card that was used to purchase the tickets, and your Ticketmaster order number as any or all of these may be required for ticket pick up.

Q: Do you have a coat check at the theater?
Yes. The coat check is located upstairs to the left as you walk into the theater. It is open every night we have a show and costs $3.00 per item.

Q: Are there restaurants or bars within walking distance of the Fox?
There are several restaurants and bars near the Fox Theater. Click here for a list of them.

Q: Are there any hotels near the Fox Theater?
There are several hotels near the Fox.  We recommend the Waterfront Plaza Hotel (1 mile from Fox), Claremont Resort & Spa (4.3 miles from Fox), and Marriott Oakland City Center (0.4 miles from Fox).

Q: Does my child need a ticket?
Yes, everyone requires a ticket regardless of age. Children under four years of age are discouraged except for events specifically geared towards children.

Q: Can anyone regardless of age attend a show at the Fox Theater?
Yes. The Fox Theater is an all ages venue. Please note that some shows may be more suitable than others for children.

Q: How can I meet the band?
The Fox Theater does not offer backstage access, meet and greet passes, or any other way to meet a band or performer. Occasionally, a radio station or fan club may offer a meet and greet, but the Fox Theater has no access to these passes.

Q: Can I smoke in the theater?
The Fox Theater has a smoking section both upstairs and downstairs that patrons may use during the show. Any member of the Fox Theater’s staff can direct you to the smoking section.

Q: I have seats number 103 and 105 in the balcony.  Are those next to each other?
Yes. Seats in the loge, mezzanine, and balcony, are numbered all odd on one side of the theater and all even on the other.
